How do I apply my lettering?
Easy-to-follow application instructions are included with each order of Liquid Letters¨ or standard vinyl letters. Here's a description:
Apply a guide strip of masking tape to a smooth work surface. The strip should be long enough to span the anticipated horizontal lettering space. Arrange your lettering just as you want it to appear when applied, adjusting the spacing for fit and butting the top of each letter to the bottom edge of the tape. Apply hash marks to the masking tape to indicate the center of each of your letters. Mark also the outside edges of the first and last letters Ñ this gives you guides for centering.
Clean the actual application area using an appropriate cleaner, such as glass cleaner for glass or all-purpose spray for plastics. However, donÕt use cleaners that leave a Òprotective filmÓ on the surface, such as wood treatments containing silicone; these products may interfere with proper adhesion.
Transfer the tape guide to the application area, positioning it above the vertical center so that when the letters are applied at the bottom edge of the tape, theyÕll be at the desired location. (Mark the edges and midpoints of the application area beforehand if you need more precision.)
Now, working from one end to the other, apply the letters ÒdryÓ or Òwet.Ó To apply a letter Òdry,Ó peel off the adhesive liner, position the letter with your guide marks, and press the letter to the application surface; first press down one edge and then run your fingers from that edge to press the rest of the letter into place. Dry-application has one drawback Ñ once the letterÕs attached, adjusting the location is very difficult. You might damage a letter, especially a vinyl one, in trying to remove it for repositioning.
Instead, try wet-application of your lettering. Spray the application surface and the exposed adhesive with a mild soap solution. (add a few drops of dishwashing liquid to a spray-bottle of water). Apply your letter, and youÕll find it floats on the surface, allowing more precise positioning. When youÕve got the letter where you want it, press the soap solution out from under it. If itÕs a vinyl letter, use a squeegee or other flat edge; if itÕs a IdentiClear¨ letter, press firmly with your palm. Work from the center out so as not to trap any of the solution. Apply the rest of your letters and youÕre done!

How do I remove lettering?
If you need to remove vinyl or IdentiClear¨ lettering, youÕll find itÕs fairly easy. Work a fingernail under an edge until you can grip enough of the letter to slowly peel it off. If the letter wonÕt peel readily, try warming it a little with a hair dryer or other heat source (NOT a heat gun). This will soften the adhesive for easier peel-off. After youÕve removed the letters, clean off any remaining adhesive. Try rubbing the residue into a ball with your thumb to remove it. In other cases, you might need to use a little mineral spirits or other solvent. Remember though to test any solvent you use on an inconspicuous area to avoid damaging your finish. |

What is NormicÕs return policy for online purchases?
If youÕre not satisfied with a Normic product that youÕve purchased online, you may return it for refund, subject to the following conditions:
You must telephone Customer Service at 800-526-8746 to arrange the return. WeÕll issue you a return authorization number and settle other details.
Except in case of a product defect, we will issue refunds only for unused and undamaged product. For example, if you mount the first letter of your boat name and then decide that the color isnÕt suitable, you can return any remaining unmounted letters for refund.
Refunds are limited to purchase price, less a 10% restocking fee.
You are responsible for the cost of shipping the return to us.
You must request your refund within 30 days of the date Normic shipped the product to you.
If you receive defective product, weÕll replace the product or issue a full refund, at your option. In such a case, there will be no restocking fee, and Normic will pay all shipping costs.
Note that return policies for Normic distributors are established as part of the distributor qualification process and may vary from the description here.
